Visit museums to learn more about yourself and your place, heritage advocate urges public

"Visit more museums and galleries in your provinces as much as you visit the malls," urged Cheryl Anne del Rosario, Director of Ang Panublion Museum in a live interview.

Del Rosario, who is slated to serve as President of the Western Visayas Museum Association, Inc., in 2023, was a guest at  ILOILO MORNING sa RADYO PILIPINAS (585KHZ) on October 25.

October is Museums and Galleries Month per Presidential Proclamation No. 798.

Del Rosario also shared her recent experiences in managing a museum amidst the COVID-19 restrictions, how she and her staff coped with the pandemic and what preparations are being done for this year's Indigenous Peoples Month and Museums and Galleries Month.

"One of my goal as President of WVAMI is to have more museums in Capiz and the region, and to have more cultural workers," she shared. She also invited everyone to take time to visit their local museums as a way of learning more about their culture and heritage. "You will learn more about yourself and your place after you visit the museum," she added.
