Good News! Capiz shines at the 𝐀𝐓𝐎𝐏-𝐃𝐎𝐓 Pearl Awards

Alphonsus Tesoro, Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Officer, and Jocelyn Mayo of the Municipality of Cuartero, receive the Pearl Award on behalf of the Province of Capiz. 

The Province of Capiz, through the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office, won two awards in the recently-concluded Pearl Awards held at the Taal Vista Hotel in Tagaytay City last October 27.


Capiz bested other LGUs as the grand winner in the Best Tourism Interpretation category with the province’s entry, “BALAY-BALAY: An Experience of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) of Capiz - Capiz Ecology Park and Cultural Village.” The province also bagged the First Runner Up honors in the Best Program for Culture and the Arts with the entry titled "TAYUYON: Championing Culture-Based Governance in the Province of Capiz."


The prestigious Tourism Pearl Awards program is organized by the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines (ATOP) and is an annual competition that recognizes exceptional tourism practices, projects and innovations.
